7. Vince McMahon Once Stopped His Match Because He Found It Boring
There are fewer things more embarrassing than having Vince McMahon come out from the back and stop your match while it's in progress because he found it boring but that's exactly what happened to Rhyno and Tajiri during a house show on August 31st 2003. At the time, Vince was appearing at house shows (usually in New York) as his Mr. McMahon character. He would also watch the shows via a backstage monitor and critique the matches. This was unusual because Vince usually just did TV and PPV and wrestlers were nervous. According to Rhyno, Vince assured them that they could 'do no wrong out there'. It was also around this time that WWE road agents had been specifically instructing talent to use more low-kisk moves and slow matches down because they were worried about the increasing amount of injuries talent were suffering. So that's what Rhyno, as the heel, did. He controlled the match with chinlocks and crowd started to chant 'Boring' at the match. Rhyno has also stated many times that he was told specifically by an (unnamed) road agent that whenever fans chant 'boring' that he should sit on the hold and not try to do anything more exciting, believe it or not. A couple of chinlocks later and Vince came storming to the ring and began barking at Tajiri and Rhyno to end the match. After some confusion, Vince had the bell run and it was deemed a no contest. The show then moved on to a bikini contests Afterwards, an understandably upset Rhyno asked why he stopped the match to which Vince replied 'the crowd was chanting boring because they were bored'. Vince, to his credit, did give Rhyno a decent payoff for the match. He probably felt bad about it, but he still could have had let them end the match in a different way and he didn't have to humiliate them the way he did.
