4. He Wrestled For TNA
Where does a wrestler go once he leaved WWE? There's the indies, but it's hard to make a living there. Overseas tours are good but they are few and far between. There are only so many spots in Japan and, really, there is only money to be made in New Japan Pro Wrestling. The other alternative is to go and wrestle for TNA. At one point during the mid-2000s, it genuinely looked like TNA could become a decent, established alternative to WWE. Buoyed by the exciting X-Division and featuring a bunch of ex-WWE wrestlers like Jeff Jarrett and Raven (who still had a lot to give) it was an exciting time for the company. They screwed it up, sure, but for a while it was looking good. Rhyno made his TNA debut on July 17th, 2005 (shortly after the first One Night Stand PPV), reverting to the ECW spelling of his name, and was immediately thrust into the main event picture. He captured the TNA Championship at Bound for Glory in October, Rhino had some great matches with Abyss, Sabu and Rave in TNA before he began to fall down the card, just like he had in WWE. He left TNA in November 2010 after five years with the company but returned for a brief run in 2014. Even though WWE doesn't view TNA as competition, it would still prefer it if its fans didn't know about their wrestlers' pasts there.
