10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Sheamus

9. The Lawyer Skit With David Otunga And Ricardo Rodriguez

http://youtu.be/A8-2YPu9ACc Sheamus had a really long feud with Alberto Del Rio in 2012. WWE was trying to establish Sheamus as a rising babyface star, so they kept matching him up with Del Rio. It led to matches at three straight PPVs that year (Money in the Bank, SummerSlam, Night of Champions) with Sheamus winning each time. It was so boring. To try to liven things up, WWE had this bright idea of doing this really long lawyer deposition skit with Sheamus, Ricardo Rodriguez and Alberto Del Rio along with several actors playing different roles. It was done in September 2012 as a way to further the feud even though, as mentioned, Sheamus already beat the guy multiple times. During the segment that aired on Raw that lasted way too long at five minutes, Sheamus joked that his last name was Lipshitz. They went on to do the "yes" bit when talking about Daniel Bryan as well. There were more serious questions done by wrestler/lawyer David Otunga with joke answers by Sheamus. He ended it by giving a Brogue Kick to the camera and then singing to end it. What was the point to all of this? To show Sheamus' comedy side while also putting over the Brogue Kick as a violent move. Thankfully we haven't seen more comedic lawyer segments since then, probably because this one didn't really work.
