6. Whonico?
Once the Sin Cara Vs. Sin Cara feud fizzled out, Arias was repackaged, veering across the Mexican stereotype spectrum from masked luchador to bandana and wife-beater clad gang-banger. WWE were worried that the character was a little too understated - so they literally wheeled him out to the ring in a lowrider bicycle. Thankfully, the idea of replacing that with a lawnmower was considered too racist. No, wait, that wasn't it - WWE had already done it with the short-lived Mexicools stable.
Unfortunately for his WWE prospects, he resumed his feud with Sin Cara as 'Hunico'. He could not escape the Sin Cara character - and when he finally did, he wrestled exclusively on Superstars. Ordinarily, that would be considered a demotion, but Arias breathed a sigh of relief. He was no longer stigmatised by Botch Cara. His career would continue outside of that shadow.
Except, it wouldn't - when Urive was marginalised by WWE in October of 2013 ahead of his eventual release, Arias reassumed the role of Sin Cara on a full-time basis. It wasn't all bad - Arias' version was less spectacular but exponentially more solid. The man under the mask previously had damaged the act so much that Cara was never destined for main events. All Arias had to do to secure his long-term financial future through merchandise royalties was to keep his head down and get on with it...
