10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Teddy Long

7. He's Very Open In Shoot Interviews

Speaking of which, Long has no problem being open during media interviews. Since leaving WWE in 2014, he has granted several shoot interview requests, and has always been honest about his career. Sometimes, such honesty is eye-opening, and some stories are not ones WWE would want openly discussed in a public forum.

Most memorably, Teddy cut a long shoot with Kayfabe Commentaries shortly after leaving the promotion. Amongst other things, he talked about the prevalence of racism in pro wrestling, backstage fighting in WWE, and even freely spoke about his own transgressions behind the scenes.

At this stage in his life and career, Teddy doesn't really owe anybody anything, and that comes across in his shoots. He's respectful towards his time in WWE and thankful to Vince McMahon for the opportunity, but he understands the nature of each interview and what fans want to glean from them.

Now that WWE run their own series of shoot-style interviews via the WWE Network, they'd likely love ex-talent to stop talking to others and save their stories (the clean ones, at least) for their own programming.
