10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About The Miz

7. Miz Wasn't WrestleMania XXVII's Focal Point

The Miz will always be able to crow about headlining WrestleMania XXVII. He did so as WWE Champion, defending that title against John Cena in the main event. Heels don't often come out of 'Mania with the title, but Miz was written to retain due to interference from The Rock. Unfortunately for the champ, that wasn't the main story.

24 hours later on Raw, The Rock vs. John Cena at WrestleMania XXVIII was set. The seeds had been sown for this confrontation in the build to 'Mania XXVII, and that hurt Miz's status as WWE Champion. Despite being in the main event, the titleholder was a mere pawn used to peddle a dream match between Cena and The Rock the following year.

As cool as it must have been to go on last at WrestleMania, it had to be disheartening for The Miz to realise that he was secondary to The Rock's guest host role and feud with Cena. The entire main event was little more than storyline foil to give Cena a reason for challenging Rocky the next night.
