10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Toni Storm

7. She Was Absent For Months

Storm debuted on the 23 July SmackDown with a win over future royal Zelina Vega. This occurred during an exciting period for WWE - fans had been welcomed back to arenas regularly for the first time since March 2020, and the promotion seemed keen to have some fresh names waiting for them.

So, of course, Toni didn’t wrestle on TV again until the 17 September show.

This near-two month gap was a real momentum killer. Fans had forgotten the win over Zelina by the time Storm showed back up, and she was thus forced to start all over again. Surely WWE should know by now that building up familiarity with the audience is key to establishing that connection with people and, y'know, getting over.

Worse, when Toni did rock back onto screens, she was placed in some random-ass tag-team matches alongside Liv Morgan. That did nothing for either babyface, and it actually kinda stifled their individual hopes of rising up the card.
