10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Vader
6. He Was Supposed To Be WWF Champion By December, 1996
The original plan called for Vader to defeat Shawn Michaels at some point between SummerSlam and Survivor Series for the WWF Heavyweight Title. Given that Sycho Sid would defeat Michaels to become champion at the latter event, it's logical to assume that Vader was supposed to be in that slot first.
Making things even more fishy, the subsequent pay-per-view in December was titled with Vader's catchphrase. The event was called 'In Your House: It's Time', using the 'It's time, it's Vader time' slogan the wrestler was prone to shouting on television.
Instead, Vader was nowhere to be found, and the show was headlined by Sid vs. Bret Hart, building up to Sid vs. Shawn Michaels for the title at the Royal Rumble.
Initially, it was supposed to be Vader in that position. The entire branding of In Your House 12 was built around him, but he wasn't even on the card. For some reason or another, Vader's big WWF Heavyweight Title push was thrown out the window, and he was moved sideways to a feud with The Undertaker.
