During the WWF's first ever tour of the country in April, 1997, Vader appeared alongside The Undertaker on a television program in Kuwait. The interview segment was supposed to promote the federation's presence in the country, but it would end up being the reason Vader was unable to leave with his peers once the shows were finished.

On one episode of Good Morning Kuwait, Vader was rattled by the presenter's line of questioning. Effectively asking if pro wrestling was fake, the host was threatened by an irate Vader. The situation escalated, to the point that Vader put his hands on the presenter and flipped over a table.

Shortly thereafter, Vader was arrested and spent time in a Kuwaiti jail. To this day, he claims that he was only acting, and was told by a producer of the show that the host had been clued in on what was about to happen.

Regardless, it caused a scene and Vader was held by police. It was an embarrassing scenario for the WWF, and one they likely wanted to move quickly on from.
