10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Vince McMahon

1. He Can Do What He Wants Whenever He Wants To Do It

Vince McMahon
WWE

As touched upon in the intro, Vince McMahon is the Executive Chairman of WWE following its merger with UFC and Endeavor.

The exact manner in which this will all work remains uncertain. While WWE higher-ups have informed the very reputable Fightful that, contrary to rumour, there is no "hiring freeze" is in place, the lack of activity is puzzling - particularly on the outgoing side of things. If the same pattern of 2020 is followed, after a protracted evaluation, it might only be a matter of time before the structure of WWE as you know it is completely unrecognisable. Things aren't happening now because the newco is finalising big changes.

One person will certainly remain, and that is Vince: Ari Emanuel, Endeavor CEO, was adamant that the merger does not happen without Vince on board.

Vince has the power to take the book and define WWE as he sees fit. He is well above Triple H, the Chief Content Officer, in the chain of command. After a brief period of calm following the poorly-received post-WrestleMania Raw, the doom is creeping back in. Insidiously.

Vince is tinkering remotely, making what appear to be totally superfluous changes to the TV shows. Reordering certain segments and the like. Reminding you that he's still there, and that he holds the power.

To what end, exactly? What is he getting from this? Isn't he notorious for an insatiable demand for power and control? Why isn't GUNTHER a stereotypical foreign menace yet? Is Vince just biding his time, aware that the worst time to seize power is when the product is as hot as it is currently?

He's already cancelling advertised matches. This might only be the beginning.

Vince is the Executive Chairman of WWE. He can take full control of creative any day now.

The biggest twist in the tale is if he doesn't.
