10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About WrestleMania 31

6. The Minuscule Jump In WWE Network Subscribers

The jump the WWE Network made from 2014 to 2015 was huge, not just in terms of the amount of programming available to subscribers, but the amount of countries it was available in too. Seeing that 'Mania 31 was the first available on the Network for many countries, WWE would have been horrified to see it didn't have too much of an impact on subscriber numbers. WrestleMania 31 brought in 1.326 million viewers with Network subscribers and PPV buys included. This number is up from the 1.185 million total viewers WrestleMania XXX brought in. For 2014's event, 495,000 were Network subscriptions, while 2015's event raked in 1,067,000. That's a jump of roughly 572,000 subscribers. Is it fair to compare these numbers to Netflix? Well WWE claim their Network is 'like Netflix, but better,' so here goes. In the same period of time, Netflix went up roughly 13.91 million subscribers. Care to reassess your marketing slogan, Vince? Given the drawing power the WrestleMania brand has and the number of countries who were new to the WWE Network back in March, 2015, surely the number of new subscribers should be a lot more?
