10 Things WWE Will Change Once SmackDown Debuts On Fox
5. Big Name Returns
Raw this week started a trend that we will be seeing a lot of in the near future: old men in the ring pretending they still could go at it.
Except on Fridays, it will likely be more than just a joke on Miz TV between Flair and Hogan. All number of names could be set to return to the ring, with names like The Rock and Steve Austin likely top of WWE's (and fans', for that matter) dream checklist. Austin recently said he has "one more match" left in him on his podcast, and The Rock has also announced his return to SmackDown. Perhaps we could get Austin versus The Rock just one more time?
But more likely, we will see some other names returning similar to John Morrison's level, and the legends of Austin and Dwayne's ilk will likely be (mostly) relegated to popping the ratings outside of the squared circle for the time being. That doesn't mean it won't be entertaining, as Raw Reunion (sort-of) showed us recently.
The key will be in properly using this talent to put people over. Nobody needed to see DX beat-down The O.C. while Seth Rollins looked on like a son watching his father fight. We need to be building new stars with the help of the old ones, not trying to pad an already fully stacked resume of a retired veteran.
Just don't expect too many of these legendary returns to be happening on USA network, because...
