10 Things WWE Will Change Once SmackDown Debuts On Fox
3. No More Shane McMahon
It does not seem coincidental that the career vs. career ladder match falls on the FOX debut. In fact, it seems Kevin Owens (and pretty much everybody else) will get their wish, and we will start seeing a lot less of Shane McMahon in the near future.
Really, this all should have ended at SummerSlam, (I Quit match would've been perfect) but beggars can't be choosers, as the old adage goes. The main thing is that you aren't going to be hearing those long, boring, and channel-switching openings from Shane going forward. We all can be excited for that, if nothing else.
And really with the aforementioned switch to a real sports feel, having an authority figure constantly change the rules just doesn't fit in. You don't see Adam Silver letting LeBron's team lower the rim for a game because he's pulling for the Lakers. But then again, this is WWE and they love to disappoint us when it comes to Vince's son. Which, in retrospective, seems to mirror Vince's feelings about Shane very well.
Go back to jumping off high stuff in a few months, Shane. You haven't bumped enough to get Triple H's spot just yet. We all look forward to you being gone just long enough for us to crave you back on top of something tall.
And while you're leaving, take this awful idea from your dad with you...
