'Pro wrestler previously worked as a security guard' is one of the biggest cliches in the business, but Corey Graves managed to forge a different path even in this particularly well-trodden route. Before being able to make a full-time living from professional wrestling Graves worked a number of jobs to make ends meet, dipping his toes into many different industries and giving an indication as to the flexibility that would come later on in WWE.

Graves worked for a promotional company that put on big rock shows in Pittsburgh, and being a six foot tall dude with a bunch of tattoos it made a lot of sense for Graves to work as a security guard. By his own admission this wasn't the most exciting job in the word as he was tasked simply with getting the stars off the tour bus and through the mass of hysterical fans into the arena.

He did get to work with some major names in the rock and roll world however. Graves can count Paul Stanley of KISS, Megadeth, and Social Distortion among the list of names he was forced to shepherd into arenas, and has stated that all of the big rock stars are way more normal in person.

The only person he claims to have had trouble with was none other than Suzanne Vega, a pop star who may well be less memorable than Caylen Croft.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
