10 Things You Didn't Know About James Ellsworth
8. He May Enter The 2017 Royal Rumble
Ellsworth is the talk of the wrestling world right now. But it’s impossible to say how long that will last for. Best case scenario is he’ll earn himself a full-time contract in WWE. No matter what, though, you can imagine he'll still pop up from time-to-time in cameo roles within the next few years.
One rumor making the rounds is that Ellsworth has already been talked about as a possible entrant for the 2016 Royal Rumble. The show is going to be in Texas next year, and the company is hoping to sell over 60,000 tickets so they can at least match what they did for the 1997 Rumble at the Alamodome.
Will announcing Ellsworth in advance help accomplish that goal? Well...no, probably not. If he does make the show, it will most likely be used as a surprise entrant, which is often one of the most entertaining aspects of the match. Hopefully we’ll see him a few times before then, but if nothing else, we can likely expect him to make a brief appearance at one of the biggest events of the year. For a guy that was originally booked to just be in one quick squash match on Raw, that's not too bad at all.
