Massaro would've been involved in a WrestleMania card earlier had she not been injured in February 2006 before 'Mania 22. During a women's Battle Royal on the 20 Feb episode of Raw, Ashley was thrown over the top rope by Candice Michelle and landed awkwardly on her ankle.

It was gross.

Check this list of injuries out: Ashley told IGN she suffered a spiral fracture that later caused surgeons to implant a five-inch metal plate and eight screws into her lower leg. On top of that, Massaro severed a nerve in her ankle and broke a couple of bones in her foot. The pain must have been excruciating, and it's amazing that she kept making (non-wrestling) appearances afterwards.

The original plan called for Ashley to get involved in the Mickie James vs. Trish Stratus match at WrestleMania. The injury changed that; Massaro did show up on TV a few weeks after getting injured to work a segment with Mickie and Trish, but she didn't appear at 'Mania.
