10 Things You Didn’t Know About Conor McGregor

2. McGregor Was Once Submitted In Just 38 Seconds

Joseph Duffy is a name that casual UFC fans may not recognize. He is a fighter out of Donegal, Ireland, who was a cast member on the Ultimate Fighter reality series (season 12) and has been fighting in the UFC since March of 2015. During his time the promotion, he has amassed a modest 4-3 record.

While Duffy has had seven fights in the UFC, the majority of his bouts have been contested on the preliminary portion of the card.

Long before his UFC debut, Joe Duffy took on a (then) unknown fighter out of Crumlin named Conor McGregor. The two Irishmen went head to head at Cage Warriors 39: The Uprising, on 27 November 2010.

That evening, Joseph Duffy was able to submit McGregor in just 38 seconds via arm-triangle choke. This mostly forgotten fight marks the fastest loss of Conor McGregor's storied career.
