10 Things You Didn’t Know About Kurt Angle

Back to in-ring matters for our final point, and an admirable kayfabe claim to fame that comes from Angle’s meeting with Brock Lesnar from WrestleMania XIX.

In their 20-minute classic, Angle may have ultimately lost his WWE Championship, but not before he’d managed to kick out of Lesnar’s F5. And back then, kicking out of the F5 wasn’t as common an occurrence as it is now. In fact, when Angle got his shoulder up at WrestleMania XIX, that was the first time anyone had ever managed to kick out of the move.

Up until then, the F5 had meant instant victory for Lesnar, seeing off the likes of The Rock, Undertaker, Big Show, and many more, as Brock ploughed through the competition.

Admittedly, it was WrestleMania, where unexpected kick-outs happen slightly more often, and admittedly this whole thing is very much an achievement that falls within the realm of kayfabe. But either way, it’s a cool piece of trivia that Angle can add to his lengthy list of accomplishments.

And of course, with Angle still very much active on the scene, it's a list that's only going to get longer.
