10 Things You Didn’t Know About Mickie James

Not that I can personally attest to this, but I’m fairly confident that whoever you are, your first-ever major championship win will always be remembered as a special one.

For Mickie James though, it wasn’t just the fact that it was her first taste of glory that made her maiden Women’s Championship win special; on top of that, it also happened to take place on the career-defining stage of WrestleMania.

It used to be a rather more common occurrence to see people win their first world title at the biggest PPV of the year—just ask Shawn Michaels, Randy Savage, the Ultimate Warrior or Stone Cold Steve Austin. But across the last ten WrestleManias, only Seth Rollins and Sheamus have managed to replicate the feat.

And if we cast our gaze to the Women’s division, it hasn’t been achieved at all since Mickie won her first Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 22. The only other female in history to match this achievement was Chyna (who did so a few years’ prior at WrestleMania 17) but given that she already had an Intercontinental title reign to her name, you could argue that was her first major title win.
