Okay, so everyone and their dog knows that Sasha Banks is related to Snoop Dogg. Oh, you didn’t know? Well, the two are first cousins, just so you know. Banks’ father is Snoop’s uncle, although the ins and outs of genealogy aren’t so important. She’s also related to Brandy and Ray J, although that doesn’t get brought up as much.

The family relationship between Sasha and Snoop is well-documented, but the influence that Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. had on Banks is less known. Banks was struggling in the early days of her career in NXT, portraying no character outside of ‘female wrestler’ and making no headway whatsoever. Something needed to change, lest her dream be quashed forever.

Thus, the ‘Legit Boss’ was born. Banks took great influence from the work of her cousin and injected it into her wrestling persona, growing from anonymous to can’t-miss overnight. Banks took the larger than life elements of her cousin and moulded them to her strengths, and the rest is history. The best pro wrestling characters are the actual person turned up to 11, and if you can turn Snoop Dogg up to 11 then you should probably do that.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
