10 Things You Didn't Know About Bash At The Beach

2. WCW Meets Baywatch

BASH AT THE BEACH FACTS

We spoke earlier about celebrity involvement at Bash At The Beach, with mainstream media personalities coming into the wrestling business, some of whom actually wrestled at the event on which they appeared.

It didn't just go in one direction though. In order to further promote the 1995 event, a handful of WCW wrestlers appeared on season six of Baywatch, with episode 15 being titled 'Bash At The Beach'. Hulk Hogan and Vader were featured on the episode, with those two main eventing that year's pay-per-view, while they were also joined by Randy Savage, Ric Flair, and Kevin Sullivan.

It seemingly did a good job attracting a decent crowd, with around ten and a half thousand fans flocking to Huntington Beach. If you're switching on your TV and see Vader, of all people, on an episode of Baywatch, you're going to be intrigued. Of course it helped attract a decent-sized crowd.

Perhaps WCW should've capitalised on this, and attempted more of these cross-platform opportunities.
