In January, 2010, Doug (then having his name stylised in full as Douglas) Williams won the TNA X Division Title on an episode of Impact Wrestling. Defeating The Amazing Red for the prize, he would hold the gold for 89 days. The circumstances which led to him losing the title make up a story detailed in a later entry on this list.

Doug's second reign as X Division Champion started on May 16, 2010. Beating Frankie Kazarian for the belt at the Sacrifice pay-per-view, the UK stalwart would go on to hold the title for a longer period of 113 days in total.

Alongside his run as FWA Heavyweight Champion in the UK, Williams counts his TNA X Division Title tenures as special moments in his career. He viewed it as a show of faith from TNA management, recognising that he brought something different to a division more associated with high-flying than mat-based grappling.

It's also interesting that Williams was chosen as champion when he was in the midst of creating chemistry as a tag-team with Magnus and Rob Terry.
