10 Things You Didn't Know About Goldberg

3. He Wrestled For HUSTLE While He Was In WWE

Goldberg eventually joined WWE in 2003, having a run that was as notable for its mishandling of 'Da Man' as it was for the fact that he had finally joined the other side. Before long, it was clear that Goldberg was butting heads with company management, and after he lost the World Heavyweight Championship in December, he took a month off as WWE tried to conserve the limited dates on his contract.

During his time off, Goldberg flew to Japan to compete in a match that he had already agreed to - a bout with Naoya Ogawa at the very first event put on by the new HUSTLE promotion. The league was meant to introduce a sports entertainment-style product to the Japanese audience, and putting Goldberg in the main event of the debut show was a smart opening move.

Goldberg defeated Ogawa, and the following Monday, he beat Matt Hardy on Raw in Long Island, NY.
