There's no doubt about it, Grado is the first genuine crossover star in Scottish pro wrestling history. The most high-profile of the past decade is undoubtedly Drew Galloway, given his ascent to WWE status many moons ago, but even he hasn't been called upon to star on mainstream national television.

Grado has, crossing over from a hardcore wrestling audience into a more casual domain. His success has admittedly been varied, but who else can claim they've went from struggling to get a wrestling booking to acting on BBC Scotland soap opera River City in a regular slot? On the show, Grado was cast as Buster, a lovable underdog with dreams of becoming a pro wrestler. Sound familiar?

In addition to his work on River City, Grado has also become a regular cast member on the Scottish comedy show Scot Squad. His work as Police Constable Hugh McKirdie has been lauded, but it comes as no surprise to wrestling fans that Grado has been able to take his natural charisma to television.
