'Gradomania' has been running wild since the man first burst onto the scene with ICW in 2012. In fairness to Grado, he has always recognised that the Glasgow outfit are his home company, the ones who really helped him live out his dreams. Due to the kind of audience he's attracted through his other ventures though, wrestling wasn't the only thing his standup comedy shows focused on.

In March, Grado played the Kings Theatre in his native Glasgow. Reviews were very much positive for his performances, and in the aftermath it seemed crucial that Grado had decided to forgo a heavy reliance on wrestling to fill the seats.

What other professional wrestlers from the United Kingdom can boast a critically well-received standup routine in the world of theatre and comedy? It's a short list if there is anyone else on it, Grado certainly stands alone in Scotland there.

The website Chortle even compared Grado to popular Scottish standup Kevin Bridges, acknowledging his ability to work a live crowd like a modern day Rab C. Nesbitt.
