10 Things You Didn't Know About Grado

5. He's Worked Some Pretty Brutal Matches

As aforementioned, laughs are a major part of what makes Grado so appealing, especially in his homeland. There's a distinct style to comedy in Scotland, one that can be self-deprecating and largely revolving around observational humour. Grado is perfect for that, and it's made him a big star, but he's not all giggles.

Due to his comedic nature, Grado probably feels like he has to prove himself to other wrestlers regularly. Perhaps that's why he's engaged in some of the most brutal matches in ICW history, bleeding like the proverbial stuck pig, landing on thumbtacks and being thumped with steel chairs.

At ICW's Fifth Annual Square Go in January, 2016, Grado faced Chris Renfrew for the ICW World Heavyweight Title. Chairs were used, thumbtacks were introduced and barbed-wire boards were even part of the match.

Renfrew isn't the only man Grado has locked horns with in intense matches like this, he's also faced the likes of Bram and Mikey Whiplash in dangerous brawls. When he needs to, Grado can be all business as a character, he's wonderfully diverse.
