10 Things You Didn't Know About Paul Bearer

3. He Wasn't Just An On-Screen Talent

It wasn€™t advertised, and so not widely known, that Moody had a role behind the scenes with the WWF in breaks from playing Paul Bearer. He had a razor sharp mind for pro wrestling. In 2000, he worked as a road agent and talent scout for the company, a role he played for TNA in 2002 and 2003. After returning to the WWE, his character was written off television in the infamous €˜wet cement€™ angle with the Undertaker and the Dudley Boyz in summer 2004. With two years remaining on his contract, Moody was drafted to work behind the scenes for the WWE, until his early release in April 2005. He became co-owner of an independent wrestling promotion - Gulf South Wrestling - in his home town of Mobile, Aabama upon his release from the WWE, but the organisation would fold two years later when Moody was faced with a coup of sorts. My understanding is that the promotion is currently active again in the local area: if anyone reading this knows more about them, please feel free to give us a little detail in the comments. Moody would also co-write a book entitled Inside Secrets on How to Enter the Exciting World of Pro Wrestling. It€™s not available these days - unless I€™m seriously mistaken - so if anyone has a copy and wants to let us all know if it€™s any good, again please hit me up in the comments here, as I€™m really curious to know.
