2. Samoa Joe Is The Longest Reigning World Champ In ROH History

The shortest reign for any ROH World Champion sits at 36 days. Then going by the name James Gibson, Jamie Noble captured the belt in August, 2005, before dropping it just over a full month later. His reign pales in comparison to some of the more lengthy in the history of the company.

Names like Nigel McGuinness, Bryan Danielson and Kevin Steen sit near the top of the rankings, but even they can't match Samoa Joe. Already ROH Champion, Joe looked on as the promotion redubbed the belt as the ROH World Championship in May, 2003. Regardless, Joe's reign continued interrupted, he'd held the title since March 22 of the same year.

Some 645 days later, Joe eventually lost the strap to Austin Aries at Final Battle 2004. During his time as champion, he'd worked incredible matches against CM Punk, one of which earned significant acclaim from the Wrestling Observer.

The current ROH World Champion, Jay Lethal has held the title for well over 300 days. Who knows whether or not he'll match Joe's run, but right now the current NXT star is still the longest reigning.
