7. A Royal History With Shawn Michaels
Chances are, we all know about that Super Kick heard round the world. But on top of producing one
of the greatest spots in the history of Monday Night Raw, Shelton Benjamin has
a second Shawn Michaels-related claim to fame.
In the 2006 Royal Rumble match, Benjamin entered at number 28 before eventually being eliminated by Michaels. Then the following year, Benjamin entered at number nine before eventually being eliminated by Michaels. And finally, in 2008, Benjamin entered at number 17 before eventually being eliminated by—you get the drill.
In three successive years, Benjamin was sent packing from the Royal Rumble by the very same man; that must be some kind of record, right?
Unfortunately, the streak didn’t quite stretch to a fourth year, as it was the Undertaker who tossed Benjamin over the top rope in 2009. He must have got wind of that college entrance music fiasco…
