10 Things You Didn't Know About Tatanka
9. He Couldn't Understand Why Ludvig Borga Was Chosen To End His Undefeated Streak
The man that pinned Tatanka - with one finger! - on that fateful episode of Superstars was none other than the man just about nobody remembers, Ludvig Borga. The late Tony Halme debuted in July 1993 and was given a similar impressive winning streak en route to a main event programme with Lex Luger.
In order to get him ready for that, he needed wins over name talent and not just enhancement guys so he was given the W against Tatanka. Chavis, for his part, couldn't understand why Borga was the man to finally beat him, since he had only recently arrived in the company and WWE had spent a lot of time building up the winning streak.
Vince McMahon had promised Tatanka a very long undefeated streak and had told him that it would mean something and make him a huge star. He also claimed that when the time came to end it, the honour would go to someone that could really make a difference.
Tatanka did not think Borga was that man. He felt it was rushed and was a bit miffed that he wasn't given much prior notice to it ending. The company did have major plans for Borga and saw a WWF Title run in his future, but Tatanka felt like he didn't want it that much and the office ended up giving up on him, anyway.
Borga would injure his ankle during a January 17th 1994 house show match with Rick Steiner, cancelling a proposed WrestleMania X match with Earthquake and he left the company soon after.
