3. The Outsiders Pitched Eric Bischoff Joining The nWo
From the outset, Eric Bischoff was a WCW announcer who was dead set against the New World Order. Scott Hall and Kevin Nash targeted Bischoff upon joining the promotion, looking to make a statement that they were in the company to take over. At The Great American Bash Pay-Per-View in June, Nash even nailed Bischoff with a Powerbomb off the stage. Therefore, when Bischoff later joined the nWo in November, a lot of fans were confused. Why would 'Easy E' decide to hook up with men who had assaulted him and threatened to tear down his company? The answer came from Bischoff himself, who reasoned that it was better to join the renegade group than oppose them. Behind the scenes however, it wasn't even Bischoff's idea. It was Hall and Nash who wanted Bischoff in the nWo. Perhaps the pair were looking to give the faction even more authority, or maybe they thought it'd just be a shocking turn of events. Eric Bischoff himself wasn't sure at first, which is certainly news to many. Eventually, he did embrace the role, and never looked back.
