Wrestlemania VII was originally supposed to take place at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, which typically fills around 100,000 seats. This would have certainly given Wrestlemania 3 a run for its money in terms of total attendance. However, Wrestlemania VII didnt nearly have the draw that Mania 3 had with Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant. However, this being wrestling, the powers that be stated that Mania 7 would be moved to the much smaller Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena due to security concerns over Sgt. Slaughters portrayal of a pro-Iraq sympathizer on television while the Gulf War was going on in Kuwait.
