6. SummerSlam In London Came Late

SummerSlam 1992 was the biggest UK show ever until AEW produced All In 2023 in the newer Wembley Stadium. A lot of planning went in from Tony Khan to try make his London date as huge as possible. Then, there was Vince McMahon. He didn't decide to hold SummerSlam at Wembley until June '92.

Yep, just two months before it happened.

The pay-per-view was initially slated for Washington, DC. Domestic business was dire though, so Vince elected to go international and see what the UK had to offer. Tickets sold like hot cakes, and the WWF cleverly shifted to a new main event featuring Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog.

Bret was actually pencilled in to work Shawn Michaels on the show in DC, and Davey Boy Smith would've tangled with Repo Man there too. Let's just say things worked out for the best then. The WWF put on one of the biggest wrestling shows of all time, and they pieced it together quickly.
