5. British Bulldog Forgot SummerSlam’s Main Event

Davey Boy admitted something horrifying to Bret as soon as the bell sounded in London: He couldn't remember a bloody thing about the match layout. Bulldog had been out partying with other wrestlers for days before the Wembley Stadium show, so he hadn’t been training or looking after himself either.

The 'Hitman' knew he had some shift ahead of him.

Ever the pro, Bret gritted his teeth and talked Davey through every spot they'd planned one-by-one as the match was in progress. Today, Hart regards this feat as one of his greatest as a wrestler - he successfully kept chats hidden from the live crowd (and viewers at home) to guide his brother-in-law through.

What could've (and probably should've) been a disastrous main event turned into a legendary one, and it's all because of Bret. Sure, Smith had to step up and pay attention too, but he wasn't the one manning any controls. Not really.
