10 Things You Didn't Know About WWE In 2011

10. Colt Cabana Receives WWE Tryout

With CM Punk poised to set the business on fire in the summer of 2011, WWE buckled to a number of his demands in order to get him to stay with the company (he was thinking about taking an extended break to recharge his batteries). He received a tour bus, first-class air travel and he also managed to secure a tryout for his best friend, independent wrestler Colt Cabana. Cabana had previously wrestled for the WWE between April 2007 and February 2009, to little fanfare: as Scotty Goldman, he was only used a couple of times on TV, in an enhancement role. Cabana (who sat ringside for Punk's famous Money in the Bank WWE Title win) wrestled Wade Barrett in a dark match at the August 2nd Smackdown tapings. Speaking to Power Slam magazine on August 28th, Cabana had this to say about his experience:
There was nothing but positive feedback. A lot of my best friends are wrestlers in WWE, and they were all trying to tell management what a great addition I€™d be. But, no, I haven€™t heard anything: I€™m still unsigned...if they want to call, I€™ll listen to their phone call
They didn't call, and Cabana remained unsigned.
