'The Champ' clocked up 20 Raw headliners in 2012, against Punk's 15, with two of those matches being against each other during and following the Champion's not-unrelated heel turn.

Mick Foley popularised the important thought process that a wrestling heel had to believe in some corner of his mind that he wasn't the heel. Few in company history had more justification for being f*cking sick of this f*cking sh*t than the 'Voice Of The Voiceless', having suffered the same indignity on pay-per-view as he was doing on television.

Bret Hart's frustration dating back to 1993 and formal turn in 1997 came close. It's surely why Punk borrowed his look during this time - the belt around his waist was supposed to symbolise more than just who had extra hand luggage at the airport, and this systemic disrespect triggered yet another epic chapter between Punk and his best career opponent.
