2. WWE Wanted "Tater Tots" To Become A Chant

The infamously awful "Tater Tots" promo wasn't just designed to be good, but to get over enough to be merchandised.

These were the revelations from the post-script of an all-time rotten Roman Reigns segment that aired on the December 7th edition of Monday Night Raw. 'The Big Dog' was p*ssing himself at the comparison he'd made between the snack and Sheamus' b*llocks, and good too - nobody else was laughing.

It was repeated ad nauseam because of course it was, but the Wrestling Observer revealed that those within the company had assumed that crowds would wildly cheer the languid line enough to use against the 'Celtic Warrior' and even sell as clobber on WWEShop.com.

Instead, it became a symbol of the polar opposite. The disdain and derision for the bit earmarked the whole tête-à-tête as one of the worst of the year, not least in contrast to the critical acclaim levied at NXT. The shows appeared worlds apart, puncturing Reigns' ongoing dispute with black-and-gold godfather Triple H.
