10 Things You Didn't Know About WWE In 2017

1. Paul Heyman Puts Over AJ Huge...In Front Of Him

A video did the rounds courtesy of WWE's backstage cameras after Survivor Series 2017 of Paul Heyman at his effusive best following AJ Styles' outstanding clash with Brock Lesnar.

Heyman couldn't have been higher on the 'Phenomenal One', noting:

"I'm shocked. I've been an AJ Styles fan since before I was supposed to be an AJ Styles fan. I watched AJ Styles before anybody here was supposed to watch AJ Styles. He is more phenomenal than he gives himself credit for. If you're not an AJ Styles fan you shouldn't even be watching WWE. He's everything Shawn Michaels, and Bret Hart, and Ric Flair were to their generation and he's updated it; he's evolved their styles to truly be the single most phenomenal in-ring performer I have ever had the honour and the pleasure of watching up close. I've been doing this my entire life. No one in the ring has ever compared to what I witnessed tonight when I had the best seat in the house and got to see AJ Styles up close."

Glowing praise, but it was only a year later that Network documentary revealed Styles himself actually present as the former ECW chief spoke. Fractures in their relationship years later may have since tempered the mutual respect, but it was sweet to see in the moment.
