5. The Original Idea For Jordan/Angle

The coming together of Kurt Angle and Jason Jordan as father and son in 2017 was a little too stupid for its own good.

Though both put their backs into their acting displays, many questioned the logic in splitting American Alpha, and Angle was no exception. Explaining on his podcast on how he wanted things to go before the reveal, the Olympian had set his heart on what looked like a natural pairing. He said;

”I was excited about it because Jason is a great talent. He was improving every week. He was on his way to main event status, until he hurt his neck...I wanted to wrestle and I wanted to be The World Champion and have them be the Tag Team Champions just like Team Angle. I thought it made a lot of sense. They decided I was going to have an illegitimate son and they weren’t sure who it was going to be and they decided to pick Jason over Chad.”

Jordan's injury soon after derailed all of it, though Angle had one enjoyable match with Gable on Monday Night Raw before his own 2019 retirement.
