5. Edge’s Wild SummerSlam 2008 Pitch

Nobody will ever stop talking about Mick Foley's hair-raising bumps at King Of The Ring 1998. The second one might've been unintentional, but it ensured his Hell In A Cell encounter vs. The Undertaker would go down in history. Edge must've fancied some of that fanfare for himself a decade later.

He reportedly wanted 'Taker to hit a Tombstone Piledriver on top of HIAC at SummerSlam 2008, but officials backstage recalled what had happened to Foley in '98 and put a stop to it. They didn't want the Cell's roof to give way when Edge was upside down - he'd have landed head first in the ring below.

There's no way anybody would've survived that disaster.

WWE waved away Edge's pitch, and everyone agreed to change it to that chokeslam off a ladder through the ring which eventually aired on the pay-per-view. The Undertaker sent Edge "straight to hell", which made for a cool visual to close out the show anyway.
