What do you remember about the 2009 Survivor Series? That memorable army-themed poster with DX? Shawn Michaels and Triple H working a three-way with John Cena in the main event? Vince McMahon recalls it being an outright disaster of a pay-per-view, so much so that he planned to ditch Survivor Series as a whole in 2010.

Fans stepped in to stop that.

Some even put together an online petition to protect the traditional event. Due to their efforts, Survivors...survived, but it didn't look likely for a spell. McMahon even told investors during a conference call that Series was no longer “advantageous as a consumer now looks at what they are actually buying”.

To be fair to fans, booking Bragging Rights in ’09 one month before Survivor Series was a stupid move. It had a similar concept, and that instantly diluted what people enjoyed about Survivors. Vince didn't get his way in the end. He reconsidered, and the Series stuck around.
