6. The Hardcore Title Should've Stayed Put

Whilst Austin rightly steals most of the attention for his natural chemistry with McMahon throughout their feud, Mick Foley deserves a pat on the back too. His childlike work opposite a perpetually p*ssed off Vince is hilarious to relive, especially when McMahon then gifts the shattered Hardcore Title belt to his lackey on 2 November.

"Thanks, dad."

Problems wouldn't come until the WWF tried to turn the Hardcore belt into something it wasn't. If anything, it should've stayed put over the shoulder of Mankind even during his main event push to come. By December though, the company decided to plop the thing onto Road Dogg (by way of Big Boss Man) and distance Foley from it.

That was a mistake. Who knows what the Hardcore belt could've come to mean had it belonged exclusively to Mick, or at least stayed on him a little longer than 28 days.
