The WWF Title changed hands a grand total of three times on Raw between 1993-1998. Then, the swift booking style practiced since '97 hastened further into 1999. That year, the same belt switched holder another four times in 12 months on the flagship program.

Raw Is Pay-Per-View?

Mankind was first up by bagging the belt on the 4 January episode (which was actually taped on 29 December, but still counts due to the air date). The Rock was next up and beat Foley in a ladder match on the 15 February episode. Then, Steve Austin topped The Undertaker on 28 June. Finally, Triple H earned a run by beating Mankind on 23 August. The top prize was also vacated on 20 September following Vince McMahon's brief stint.

His random title win meant that the WWF booked no less than five title switches on free TV alone in 1999. They'd slow that roll by penning only three more TV title changes over the next three-four years. They had to - the belt was becoming a hot potato.
