10 Things You Learn From Boycotting WWE For One Year

2. The WWE Still Has Zero Respect For The Diva's Division (Despite What They Say)

How on earth has this situation not resolved itself? WWE has finally stopped treating women like animals and soft-core pornographic objects, and there is additionally the most phenomenal talent in the Diva€™s division I have ever seen. The potential for a division that is equal to the men€™s in terms of quality and coverage is right there waiting to be utilised. Instead it all appears to be the same from what I can gather. I have read about rumblings of a Diva€™s Revolution but the consensus seems to be that was a major fizzer. And if the episode of Raw I saw was anything to go by, then that consensus is understandable. What we got at the Slammy€™s was about half an hour of Stephanie screeching at the top of the show (just in case you forgot who the most important female in the company was), followed by the same old insulting tokenism towards the Diva€™s division as Becky Lynch and Brie Bella had the perfunctory Raw Diva€™s showdown. This match was in turn given about as much respect as an R-Truth and Santino Marella mud wrestling match on Main Event would be. Worst of all Nikki Bella was then crowned Diva of the Year after an embarrassingly naff reference to something that happened at Miss World, and we had to sit through a Kayfabe shattering speech from her about hopes and dreams which seemed to undermine her role as a heel. At least, I am assuming she is still heel? I honestly could not care any less about Nikki Bella or her twin. It would be nice to see Charlotte just be a dominant badass champion, who had epic matches with some of the other talents on the roster that can actually wrestle, without them having to get stuck in re-treaded and embarrassing storylines. It seemed that she was the kind of wrestler who could launch the Diva€™s into the stratosphere by simply being given respectful narratives. Alas that kind of subtle storytelling still seems a bridge too far for WWE creative.
