Since the event, it's come to light that Hawk was in no condition to perform at SummerSlam 1992. Aligned with Animal as The Legion Of Doom, the pair faced Ted DiBiase and IRS (collectively known as Money Inc) on the pay-per-view. Unfortunately, LOD's entrance would be the most memorable part of their appearance.

Riding down the lengthy aisle on motorbikes, Hawk and Animal looked like genuine bad asses. There was just one problem. In an attempt to make the team more marketable to children, manager Paul Ellering carried a ventriloquist dummy named Rocco with him. That was a huge mistake.

Most fans wanted to see LOD tear through opponents with destructive force, not draw inspiration from a doll in sunglasses. That sorry plot twist, plus Hawk's drug problems, made the match a struggle when it really should have been a highlight of the entire card.

At one point, Hawk even visibly rested his head on the turnbuckle, struggling to get through the bout. Who knows what might have happened had he been in better shape, but he was released soon after the show.
