7. The Steiner Bros Looked Out Of Place

We almost feel sorry for the well-meaning fan who put so much care and attention into the sign visible above. They were attending the WWF's brand spanking new show and their excitement at seeing The Steiner Brothers wrestle is evident by the detail put into sketching Rick and Scott. It's just a shame the WWF wanted to clown around instead.

That's not a joke, they did. When serious pro wrestlers like The Steiners were mauling a pair of nondescript, masked 'Executioners', none other than Doink the Clown played pranks on the crowd opposite the hard cam. The announcers couldn't help but mention Doink too, further removing from what The Steiner Brothers were doing in-ring.

Weirdly, this sums up the team's entire run in the WWF from 1992-94. Rick and Scott were straight up wrestlers who had relished their more in-ring focused NWA/WCW background. Both styles butted heads badly once they were in Vince McMahon's garishly bright live action cartoon.
