10 Things You Missed From Last Night's WWE Raw (July 9)

1. Lunatic Foreshadowing

Drew McIntyre Seth Rollins

Finally, we come to the main event, and shock of all shocks, Seth Rollins had a great match on Monday Night Raw. Who could've possibly seen that coming?

Rollins lost to Drew McIntyre in just over 20 minutes. Quality-wise, it was in-line with Seth's recent TV standards, and it had the Boston crowd hooked throughout. Another high-workrate banger for 'The Kingslayer's' impressive 2018 résumé, and the Scot's first big singles showdown since joining the main roster in April.

The stipulation stated that had McIntyre lost, he'd have been banned from ringside when Rollins challenges for Dolph Ziggler's Intercontinental Championship at Extreme Rules this weekend. Thus, a two-on-one situation is almost guaranteed. WWE wouldn't have booked this bout unless they planned on having McIntyre get involved somehow, so expect the numbers game to feature throughout the 30-man Iron Man clash.

Given that Dean Ambrose is apparently close to returning from injury, the stars seem to be aligning nicely for a big crowd-pleasing Extreme Rules comeback, leading into a potential tag feud with Ziggler and McIntyre. Hooray for fantasy booking.
