10 Things You Need To Know About NXT's Aleister Black
4. His Ink
Along with the scraggly beard and long mohawk, the first thing you notice when laying eyes upon Aleister Black is his tattoos. The Dutch brawler is inked from head to toe, and there’s barely a part of his body that isn’t home to some kind of tattoo. Such body art is commonplace in the hardcore punk circles in which he used to operate, and while there are plenty of tattooed wrestlers doing the rounds in WWE, none are as heavily inked as Aleister Black.
His first tattoo was a Japanese half-sleeve on his right arm. He got it when he was 20 years old, and eventually extended it all the way to his chest, much to his mother’s protestations. Though he had no initial desire to become as heavily tattooed as he is today, Black kept adding new artwork to his body over the years, and each one represents something different.
A number draw from his occult influences, but none exist solely for the sake of having a cool image on his skin. From the Japanese tiger on his right hand to the crescent moon under his eye, each comes with a unique meaning, whether it happy, sad, angry, or even Satanic. The crescent moon, for example, represents his fear of the dark as a child and the Crescent Moon Stomp, one of his favourite wrestling techniques, though it’d likely take Black many, many hours to explain the individual meaning of every single one.
