10 Things You Somehow Missed In AEW

7. MJF & Chris Jericho Mirror One Another

On the November 13, 2019 Dynamite, MJF and Chris Jericho shared the ring for the first time.

It was an entertaining segment with multiple objectives. Principally, it was designed as a means of transitioning between Cody's rivals in order to sell the gravity of what had occurred at Full Gear. AEW crafted the illusion that nothing is disposable and that your hard-earned money was spent on something that mattered by registering Jericho's win as something to brag about. They also convinced you that the next PPV offering was also worth paying for with the second glimpse of the eventual MJF/Cody Rhodes blood feud.

The segment also teased the super, super long-term rivalry between MJF and Jericho, who made explicit their connection and potential bond with some hilarious banterrific cross-talk. That appeared to be that; MJF didn't express a desire to join the Inner Circle for some time, nor did Jericho extend an invitation.

But several loving details were applied in the background several months before the post-All Out 2020 Dynamite.

On Twitter, MJF mocked Cody's infamous 2016 list with one of his own - a list of people he'd never face. Only Cody's name appeared on it. At the same time, Jericho revealed his "Lexicon de Le Champion".

Both men taunted various crowds as poor, backwoods products of inbreeding.

They were even equipped with a pair of bodyguard heavies with whom they communicated telepathically; Jake Hager once deliberately said nothing on commentary as Jericho put over his insight in a priceless bit, where MJF on the Homecoming Edition Dynamite said "Good talk" to Wardlow, who uttered not a single word.

AEW on an ad-hoc basis deepened the connection between the two men in order to heighten the intrigue surrounding what they might one day do together - or in conflict...
