10 Thrown-Together WWE Acts That Made No Sense

7. Cody Rhodes & Drew McIntyre

McIntyre may be experiencing some Déja Drew after lifting Raw's Tag Team Titles alongside Dolph Ziggler on Monday Night Raw, but Cody's NWA World Heavyweight Championship victory over Nick Aldis at ALL IN couldn't be further removed from this midcard d*ck-about they shared in 2010.

The very definitions of characters with f*ck all to do in September that year, 'Dashing' Cody and 'The Chosen One' Drew decked tag team icons Matt Hardy and Christian in an effort to announce themselves as SmackDown's latest deadly duo, and were given the titles to try and legitimise them just weeks later in a Tag Team Turmoil clash at Night Of Champions. Fans cared about as little then as they did when the bronze straps were surrendered to the makeshift pairing of David Otunga and John Cena - themselves trapped in an utterly miserable angle.

Coincidentally Drew's final match before heading back to WWE via NXT in 2017 was with Cody. Less coincidentally was how both were accepted as major stars compared to their McMahon-mandated irrelevance years earlier.
